The Rock Knights Festival is a new event in the South of France bringing together the “Knights” of Rock and the Medieval World. During the day, you’ll spend time in the camp of the Templars and of other military and monastic orders (Hospitalars, Teutonics…). They will demonstrate their fighting abilities as well as their handcraft skills. At night, Rock music takes over the place with excellent bands to discover or rediscover!
The lineup for 2012 is, in our mind today, in line with our thoughts for 2011 i.e. one night dedicated to the 60’s and Blues Rock (with bands like The Animals, Ten Years After, Popa Chubby…) and one night more 70’s/80’s (UFO, Molly Hatchet, Blackfoot, Saxon..).
The festival’s first edition in August 2010 showed excellent live performances of the ever remarkable HAWKWIND, WISHBONE ASH, BLUE COUPE (ex Blue Öyster Cult & Alice Cooper), TASTE (ex Rory Gallagher’ s band), JOHN COGHLAN’s QUO (ex Status Quo), FURIOUS WATTS (Tribute to AC/DC), MARLEEN (Tribute to Doors/Hendrix) and WASH MASH. It brought a rock amateur audience (35/65 years of age) coming from other French regions and even from some countries neighboring France.
It has been warmly greeted and acclaimed by the rock press (Rock&Folk), daily regional news (Centre Presse, Midi Libre, La Dépêche) and radios (France Bleue Herault, France Inter, Sud Radio…).

The Rock Knights festival will be held near the village of "La Couvertoirade", at the Domaine de Gaillac, on the magnificent area of the Larzac, south of Aveyron in the Midi-Pyrénées region (one hour north of Montpellier or Beziers/ South France).
Would you like to help or participate?
Excellent! We need all good vibes and volunteers that we can get. Please contact us at
or through the "Contact" page, thanks!
The bands that we would like to see at our festival (see above for style and serious examples) have been established for some decades. They or their members have also brought something to rock music. To all young bands (or other ones not contacted by us): please be patient. We might add one or two groups on our line up. This will be done only when the final and main line up is finalized ie in June 2012. Groups will be freely lodged on site. However the Rock Knights association will not finance any further costs or fee before the festival achieves its financial autonomy. Thanks for your understanding here. For the ones interested to apply in this context, please contact us at our email or physical address (details on "Who are we?") but from June only. We won' t listen or decide before.
